Komparační studie čtyř romských životních příběhů

The objective of this thesis is to do a comparative analysis of four Romany life-stories in prose from different parts of the world and identify features which may justly be called characteristic of Romany writing. The comparison of Victor Vishnevsky's Memories of a Gypsy, Mikey Walsh's Gypsy Boy and Gypsy Boy on the Run, Andrej Giňa's Paťiv. Ještě víme, co je úcta and Irena Eliášová's Naše osada yields valuable insights into how Romany writers construct their identity and to what extent their current work relates to the existing literary genres. Because of Romany studies' multidisciplinary nature, the extensive introduction lays the theoretical foundations for the analysis. I proceed from the characteristics of Romany studies in general in part 1.2 to the way it was practised during my undergraduate years in Prague as opposed to the Western tradition (part 1.3). Using a case study of the schism Romany studies are currently facing in the Czech Republic, in part 1.4 I attempt to illustrate the more general epistemological challenges the field has been grappling with between essentialist/primordialist and radical constructivist views. Using Story-telling in Pastoral Care

This thesis deals with the usage of storytelling within the pastoral conversation. It aims for describing approaches that addresses storytelling and discovering if and under what circumstances is possible to be applicated while putting emphasis on the storytelling. The thesis maps the progression of pastoral care in Czechia during past century and in foreign countries because of the American boom of narrative forms within pastoral care. The main theme is mapping of four approaches of storytelling during the pastoral conversation. They are divided into two groups based on sides that is focused within the conversation. At first part the thesis describes story telling of caregiver and focuses mostly on the way how the caregiver narrates biblical stories toward the care seeker. The second part deals with approaches of pastoral care that were influenced by narrative therapy. The focus is shifted towards the care seeker's storytelling. At last, but not least, the thesis aims to define the differences between those approaches and their potential drawbacks.
Life story narrative analysis of female agoraphobia

This dissertation presents theoretical and empirical research on the agoraphobia. The theoretical part outlines the history and diagnosis of agoraphobia since the mid- nineteenth century to the present through selected theories of this disorder. Concept of normality and diagnosis of agoraphobia disorder according to ICD -10, DSM IV and DSM V are also addressed. Space is also devoted to the philosophical concept of anxiety and body in relation to space. In the empirical part of the thesis the life story narrative analysis as well as analysis of narrative interviews with women suffering from agoraphobia was carried out. Ten women represent the sample. Received research data were analysed using the categorial- formal analysis. Following research objectives were set: to analyse importance of the disease in lives of participants, to describe the individual specific form of the disease, to analyse individual meaning and purpose attributed by the participants to their disease, to describe diverse aspects of life depicting. The aim was also to learn about the ways participants manage their disease including the use of therapy. Narrative therapy: polyphonic choir

Narrative therapy is shortly characterised and reasons explaining its existence are mentioned. Psychodynamic, cognitive-constructivist, and social constructionist versions of narrative therapy are introduced. Theoretical sources such as approaches to the life-story and some representations of these three versions are also discussed. It is argued that the individual life-story brings closer different therapeutic approaches. It is concluded that each psychotherapy is a process of the three overlapping phases: Life-story telling, life-story reading and life-story re-telling.
